How to load an image

Image Measurement supports many types of loading in images.

Images

To load a simple image file click on Image > Add image from media file and select the image in the file browser. Click open.

The following image file formats can be used with Image Measurement:

  • TIFF Bitmap (*.tif;*.tiff;*.fax;*.g3n;*.g3f;*.xif)
  • CompuServe Bitmap (*.gif)
  • JPEG Bitmap (*.jpg;*.jpeg;*.jpe;*.jif)
  • Windows Bitmap (*.bmp;*.dib;*.rle)
  • Portable Network Graphics (*.png)
  • DICOM Bitmap (*.dcm;*.dic;*.dicom)
  • Windows Metafile (*.wmf)
  • Enhanced Windows Metafile (*.emf)
  • Targa Bitmap (*.tga;*.targa;*.vda;*.icb;*.vst;*.pix)
  • JPEG2000 (*.jp2)
  • JPEG2000 Code Stream (*.j2k;*.jpc;*.j2c)
  • Multipage PCX (*.dcx)
  • Camera RAW (*.crw;*.cr2;*.nef;*.raw;*.pef;*.x3f;*.bay;*.orf;*.srf;*.mrw;*.dcr;*.sr2)
  • Photoshop PSD (*.psd)
  • Vectorial objects (*.iev)

Video files

To load a video file click on Image > Add image from media file, and select the video in the file browser. After selecting the video file look to the left and select the frame you wish to measure on. You navigate using the scroll bar. When the frame is selected, press Open.

The following video file formats can be used with Image Measurement:

  • AVI (*.avi)
  • MP4 (Mp4)

Scanners, camera or other video sources

If your image is on foil or paper, it is possible to acquire them into Image Measurement directly from a scanner.

If you have a “live” camera or video source, the software can also acquire the still images directly from this.

The supported interface drivers are:

  • WIA
  • TWAIN
