You can crop an image after you have loaded your image into Image Measurement, but before you start calibrating.

Click the  (Crop image) tool to activate it. Mark the area you wish to keep by clicking and dragging the square over it. When you have selected the area click the  (Crop image) tool again, and your image will be cropped.
